Participation in Enrichment Courses/Programs

Whitmore Elementary School has agreements with Enrichment Partner Vendor Course Instructors to offer instruction in elective and core subject areas. Each student, with the agreement of their assigned teacher, has the opportunity to take advantage of courses offered by the school’s approved Enrichment Partner Vendor Course Instructors. An appropriate and corresponding course must be listed on the student's Assignment Form and included in their individualized learning plan. The amount spent per month can be up to $120 per student each month. It can be a combination of multiple courses. If a student exceeds the $120 per month limit, the family is responsible for paying the Enrichment Partner Vendor the amount over the limit. Whitmore Elementary School cannot pay or reimburse for missed lessons or sessions. If a student does not attend a scheduled class or session, the parent or guardian must notify the Enrichment Partner Vendor and comply with the vendor’s policy regarding absences.

Before a student can begin any enrichment partner vendor courses, the parent must sign a Parent Acknowledgment Form.

Parents or guardians review the list of approved enrichment partner vendors and contact the vendor that they are interested in using for their student. If a vendor is not listed and is interested in becoming an approved Enrichment Partner Vendor, an application can be obtained from the Whitmore Elementary School office by calling 530-472-3243.

After the vendor is chosen, the parent or guardian needs to complete an Enrichment Partner Vendor Request Form.

Once the Enrichment Partner Vendor Request Form has been completed and submitted to the student’s supervising teacher, families will receive written notification from the Whitmore Elementary School Office indicating that the student may begin the Enrichment Partner Vendor course. Lessons attended before written notification is received will not be covered by the school.

Participation in vendor courses is completely voluntary and not required to complete the Whitmore Home School academic program.  Please talk with your assigned teacher and complete the Parent Acknowledgement Form to participate in any course.   Additionally, Whitmore Union Elementary Home School requires all vendors to complete a Livescan fingerprint clearance before becoming a vendor. It must be approved as a vendor before Whitmore Union Elementary will pay for any courses or memberships.

Whitmore Union Elementary Home School will pay up to $120 per month for vendor activities. The family's responsibility is any amount owed to a vendor over $120 per month.

Whitmore Union Elementary Home School will only pay for vendor services from September through May.  Any unused vendor activities will not be credited to the family for use in future months or reimbursed to the family.

Withdrawal from an Enrichment Partner Vendor Course
Students will sign up at the beginning of the year for the Enrichment Partner Vendor(s) of their choice from the approved list. Students who cancel a vendor before the end of an enrichment partner enrollment period (September - December and January - May) must wait until the beginning of the next enrollment period to start a new course. Any time a student withdraws from an Enrichment Partner Vendor course before the end of the school year, an Enrichment Partner Vendor Cancellation Form must be completed.
If a student has a gym membership, they must attend the gym a minimum of four (4) times a month. Failure to meet the minimum attendance requirement will result in the immediate cancellation of Whitmore Elementary School's membership payment. Families should also check with the gym to find out their membership cancellation policy.
